Eighth grade students are getting prepared to make the transition to high school. During the second week of February, the school counselors at the high school will visit with the eighth grade students in math classes to inform them of the course selection process. Students will be able to see what courses they will be required to take as well as which electives will be available to them. This is an exciting time for the students as they look ahead and prepare for next year and beyond! Be on the lookout for information pertaining to course registration!
Grade 8 students have cast their votes for careers that they would like to see presented during Career Day, a one-day event for which students visit three presentations of their choosing given by career professionals. Currently, Bow Rotary is working to schedule the various presenters. Career Day will be held on March 9, 2012 during the school day.
The Leaders In Prevention (LIP) students have been busy working on a number of activities to promote a healthy lifestyle and a positive school climate. LIP students are busy at work preparing and rehearsing for their play REWIND, which discusses peer influence, healthy choices, and responsible decision making. They plan to perform for the entire 5th grade in February.
